# **Surgical Technologist**

Days and Nights

Operating Room I Lexington, KY

## ***$15,000 Sign on Bonus Available for Qualified Individuals.***

Baptist Health Lexington Surgical Services Department encompasses several key areas: the Pre-Op Department, 20 operating rooms with a business office staff responsible for scheduling, a Postoperative Care Unit, an Endoscopy Department with dedicated pre- and post-op areas, and a Sterile Processing Department.

**Description OR Surgical Technologist:**

- Functions as a member of the surgical team under the direction of the registered nurse.
- Performs scrub functions and other roles, which support the perioperative plan of care and knowledge of operative procedures.
- Demonstrates knowledge of and utilizes principles of aseptic technique including but not limited to gowning, gloving sterilization, and disinfection.
- On call weekends, weeknights, and holidays by rotation.

**Requirements OR Surgical Technologist:**

- Technical Diploma or associate degree from an accredited Surgical Technology program
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required. If not already certified, applicants must obtain BLS within 30 days of their hire date.
