Patient Care Assistant- General Resource Team (Float Pool)

Job description

The Patient Care Assistant – General Resource Team (Float Pool) position works under the direction of a Registered Nurse to assist in delivery of patient care including personal hygiene and daily activities transporting patients and equipment, setting up and maintaining patient rooms, and reordering/stocking of supplies. Responsible for coordination of communications and procedures for the nursing unit, process electronic orders and assembling patient’s charts and other necessities.

Work Schedule:  24 hrs. weekly/0.6FTE; 11:00pm-7:30am, every other weekend

Required Qualifications:

  • Must have one of the following:
    • High school diploma or equivalent 
    • HS Diploma in progress and Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) on the Minnesota Nursing Assistant Registry
    • Equivalent work experience in lieu of HS diploma or equivalent may be considered
  • Valid Basic Life Support (BLS) certification

Preferred Qualifications:

  • CNA experience
  • HUC or unit clerk experience
  • Microsoft office experience 
  • Prior experience in acute care or hospital setting
  • Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) on the Minnesota Nursing Assistant Registry
