The RN prescribes, delegates, and coordinates nursing care of patients; participates in patient and family teaching; and provides leadership by working cooperatively with ancillary, nursing, and other patient-team personnel in maintaining standards for professional nursing practice in the clinical setting. Creates a positive customer service environment.
Job Duties:
- Completes and documents database in Epic if needed according to the procedure
- Obtains a health history and instructs patient for procedure / treatment in Radiology.
- Assesses the patient’s and family’s knowledge and understanding of the patient’s health status and capabilities.
- Performs routine assessment according to standards of care.
- Provides ongoing assessment as indicated by the patient’s status and / or problems.
- Reviews chart to ensure pre procedure items are compliant
- Participates in getting biopsy/procedures approved by radiologist prior to scheduling
- Performs patient monitoring during procedures
Requirements:
- Current RN licensure recognized by the Kentucky State Board of Nursing is required.
- ADN or higher
- 2 years of nursing experience (job related radiology or unit nurse experience)
- Must obtain Moderate Sedation Training, ACLS, and Cardiac Monitoring Observations within 3 months
