Job Duties:

In this role, the RN will be responsible and accountable for direct comprehensive nursing care for the patient from admission to discharge. The Registered Nurse will function as an on-shift team member providing direct patient care to meet the needs of patients, families, and co-workers.

About the Unit:

The Neuro Intermediate Unit (NIU) is a 41-bed unit specializing in both Neuroscience and Progressive Care (PCU) step-down nursing. With excellent nurse-to-patient ratios (3–4:1), our team provides exceptional, high-quality care to adult patients. Our 41-bed unit is composed of 15 Neuro specific beds and 26 intermediate specific beds; we work as an interdisciplinary team of healthcare professionals to provide high-quality patient and staff centric care with the full support of our providers and support staff.   Our team is supported with 24/7 leadership on the unit including two clinical coordinators available on dayshift & nightshift and a stoke coordinator. Common neuroscience cases include ischemic and hemorrhagic strokes, TIAs, seizure/epilepsy, degenerative disorders, autoimmune disorders, and central nervous system disorders. As a certified Primary Stroke Center, our team has been recognized as a state-of-the-art stroke care center.  Our team continues building the reputation as the unit that everyone wants to be a part of—the one new graduate nurses, or those planning a career in healthcare talk about for its exceptional teamwork, clinical expertise, and supportive environment. Qualifications:

Current Indiana or compact state RN or LPN license.

BLS for healthcare provider required.

ACLS for Healthcare provider required (obtained within 6 months of hire).

NIHSS certification required (obtained within 10 weeks of hire).
