Job description

  • Answer phones and greet patients in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Schedule, confirm, and reschedule patient appointments.
  • Register patients and maintain accurate demographic and medical information in the EMR system.
  • Verify insurance eligibility, collect co-pays, and assist with billing-related inquiries.
  • Process referrals, prior authorizations, pre-certifications, and medical records requests.
  • Maintain provider schedules and support daily office operations.
  • Balance daily cash collections according to office procedures.
  • Ensure patient confidentiality and compliance with HIPAA regulations.
  • Perform other administrative duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Previous medical office, healthcare, customer service, or administrative experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of medical scheduling, insurance verification, referrals, and prior authorizations preferred.
  • Experience working with electronic medical record (EMR) systems preferred.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and multitasking skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and comply with HIPAA regulations.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and standard office equipment.
