FAQ

A 40-hour week over 52 weeks is 2,080 hours, the number behind the standard conversion: hourly rate times 2,080 gives the annual salary. Three 12-hour shifts a week make 1,872 hours, so the same rate earns less over the year.

Biweekly means a paycheck every two weeks, 26 a year. Twice a month means two fixed paydays, usually the 15th and the last day, 24 a year. The biweekly check is smaller for the same salary, but two months a year bring three of them.

Before taxes. Every figure is gross pay. Take-home depends on your state, filing status, and deductions like health premiums or retirement contributions, so when you compare offers, compare them gross on the same schedule.

In hospitals, usually yes: three 12-hour shifts count as full-time for benefits at most facilities. The 0.8 FTE preset here uses the 40-hour base and sets 32 hours; some hospital employers count FTE from a 36-hour base instead.
