Responsible for assisting with the professional role development of members of the Nursing Department as well as the implementation of programs to improve the quality of care delivered. Principal Accountabilities: Essential Job Functions
- Functions as clinical instructor on designated unit for local universities
- Adheres to university adjunct professor requirements regarding curriculum and grading
- Adheres to Atlantic Health System requirements regarding student to instructor ratio
- Ensures students are adhering to all Atlantic Health System policies regarding parking, hygiene, and patient care requirements.
- Participates in required on- campus activities such as simulation for clinical course
- Gathers data to monitor student outcomes at beginning and conclusion of clinical rotation
- Facilitates student engagement on unit and promotes AHS Nurse Externship and Hire Learner Programs
- Assists unit educator and clinical nurse specialist in unit-based education needs (Hire Learner Education, cross-training education, simulation days, competency days)
- Other duties as assigned

Required: 1. MSN Required 2. Minimum of 2 years of Acute Care experience in a hospital setting as a Registered Nurse 3. Valid New Jersey Nursing License Preferred: 1. Specialty Certification Required preferred
Relevant Experience
- Recent minimum of 2 years of recent acute care experience as a registered nurse in a hospital setting. Experience is to be in the area of JFNE specialization (i.e. Pediatrics, Pediatric Inpatient, Pediatric Emergency Department)
- Strong interpersonal communication skills, both verbal and written
- Patient, compassionate nature
- Ability to operate as part of a team, alongside physicians, nurses and nursing students
- Proficiency in computer-based data management programs and information systems
- Education experience preferred
- NRP, ACLS, PALS preferred
