- How long does a personal care assignment usually last?
An assignment can run for years. Agencies keep the same aide with the same client where they can, because continuity is most of what the service is worth, and the assignment usually ends when the client moves into a facility or dies. Staying in one household that long makes the work rewarding and the ending hard.
- What's it like working alone in someone's home as a personal care aide?
