Requirements lists pair this card with ATCN, and the second one is a different animal. The Society of Trauma Nurses runs Advanced Trauma Care for Nurses concurrently with the surgeons' ATLS course: the nurses audit the ATLS lectures, then peel off at the skill and testing stations to run their own. ENA's course stands alone and admits whoever it admits. ATCN is built for registered nurses, so a paramedic or a technician holding TNCC has no matching route into it.

- Do I have to be a nurse to hold TNCC?
RNs and non-RNs both earn the same 4-year provider verification. The shorter routes back are RN-only: ENA opens its 1-day renewal course and its challenger option to registered nurses. A paramedic or a technician who holds TNCC takes the full provider course again each cycle.
- What do I send when credentialing asks for TNCC?
A letter you email yourself. Your provider card sits in ENA's university portal under Transcripts, with an email button that sends an authorized verification letter to a hospital or a credentialing company, and those letters arrive from [email protected]. Send it from the portal on the day they ask.
- What happens if my TNCC verification lapses?
An RN has 2 shorter ways back. The 1-day renewal course is open while provider status has been expired for less than 180 days, and the challenger route, pre-course modules followed by the skill test and the exam without the classroom days, is written for an RN who has taken TNCC before and is comfortable with self-study. Whichever you take, ENA's advanced trauma course asks for a current TNCC verification, 8th or 9th edition, before you can enroll in it.
