The ICU at North Alabama Medical Center offers RNs the opportunity to care for a diverse, critically ill patient population while working alongside an experienced, collaborative multidisciplinary team. How you’ll contribute
A Charge Nurse (RN) who excels in this role:
- Provides clinical leadership and oversight of hospital operations during assigned shifts
- Serves as the first line of support for nursing staff, physicians, and interdisciplinary teams
- Ensures safe, effective patient care and adherence to nursing standards and rehabilitation philosophy
- Coordinates patient admissions, staffing assignments, and unit workflow
- Performs and supports accurate patient assessments, interventions, and documentation
- Ensures completion and updates of interdisciplinary care plans
- Monitors quality indicators (QIs) and supports performance improvement initiatives
- Communicates and escalates clinical concerns or unusual occurrences appropriately
- Supports staff education, development, and regulatory compliance
- Assists with staffing plans, scheduling, and management of nursing resources
Schedule: 3 x 12 Full Time- Days
What we’re looking for:
Applicants should have a current state RN license. Additional requirements include:
- Associate’s Degree in Nursing required; Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing preferred
- Current RN license in state of practice; BCLS required; ACLS, PALS, and Handle with Care preferred.
