Why the tubes go in an order
The order exists because additive can travel backwards into the next tube. Inside a closed system it rarely does. With a syringe, a needle transfer or blood decanted between tubes it does, and EDTA reaching a chemistry tube sends the potassium up and the calcium down on a patient whose blood is fine. The coagulation tube is filled early for the same reason, ahead of anything whose additive would change how the sample clots. Getting the order wrong invents a disease nobody has.

- What's a mobile phlebotomist?
A phlebotomist who travels to the draw instead of waiting for it: homes, workplaces, care facilities, and insurance medical exams. You carry your own supplies, manage a route, and work alone, so employers want a driver's license and someone who can find a vein without a second pair of hands nearby.
- Is working at a plasma donation center different from a hospital lab?
Very. A plasma center runs on donors rather than patients: you screen, check vitals, hook people to apheresis machines, and watch them through a session that runs the best part of an hour. Hospital and lab draws are short, diagnostic, and often on people who are unwell or hard to stick. Both hire at entry level, and centers tend to train from scratch.

It's the standard way in. You're already inside the laboratory, already handling specimens, and departments fill openings from their own staff; a medical laboratory technician role takes an associate degree, so people study part-time while drawing.
