The Float Pool is designed to support both Stamford Health specialties and Primary Care offices throughout our organization. Our Float Pool team is made up of independent, motivated, and self-driven professionals who enjoy working in a dynamic environment. Team members are adaptable, embrace change, and take pride in supporting variety of Specialty and Primary Care offices. 

Schedule: Monday through Friday, with shifts from either 8:00am to 4:30pm or 8:30am to 5:00pm. Float Pool team may be assigned to locations in Norwalk, Wilton, Darien, Stamford, New Canaan, Riverside, and Greenwich

MAJOR ACCOUNTABILITIES / CRITICAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

•     Documents patients concerns, questions etc accompanies patient to exam/procedure room and prepares patients for physical exam. Initial patient interview; reviewing patient medical profile, and documents all required charting  in EMR/manual charting as appropriate. •    Obtains and accurately documents patient vital signs, weight: reports any abnormalities to physician.  •    Assists patients as necessary i.e. walking, transferring, dressing etc. •    Provides minor treatment as directed by physician, assists physicians with minor procedures. •    Provides education as indicated after evaluating the learning needs of the patient and or family. •    As required, schedules patient testing and pre certifies if insurances requires. •    Responds to telephone messages (patient, physician offices etc…)  •    End of month checks for expired supplies and medication. •    Stocks rooms/maintains inventory or exam/procedure rooms. •    Orders supplies as needed. •    Exam/procedure room & equipment cleaned after each patient. •    Prepares exam /procedure room for next patient & physician needs. •    Notifies patients of test results (per physician instruction) and follow up.   

QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS:

•    Graduate of an accredited school of nursing. •    Valid license as Licensed Practical Nurse in CT. •    BLS Certification •    Excellent customer service / communication skills. •    Knowledge of medical terminology.
