The Patient Care Technician (Day Shift) is responsible for assisting physicians and nursing staff in ensuring that each patient’s basic needs are met. This role provides hands‑on care and clinical support in a fast‑paced Neuro Acute Care environment, helping maintain patient comfort, safety, and quality of care during overnight hours.
Principal Accountabilities
- Assist patients with activities of daily living, including bathing, feeding, and dressing
- Obtain and accurately record vital signs, weights, and heights
- Support patient mobility, including ambulation, transfers, discharges, and range‑of‑motion activities
- Perform post‑mortem care in accordance with hospital protocols
- Conduct clinical tasks such as EKGs, phlebotomy, and blood glucose monitoring
- Observe patients and report changes in condition to the Registered Nurse
- Maintain phlebotomy equipment and inventory
- Perform other related duties as assigned
