Maryville Mental Health Therapist - Family Life Services (East)

Job description

The Mental Health Therapist works under the supervision of the Practice Manager to provide clinical assessment, referral and/or counseling for mental health problems.

Responsibilities

  • Provide assessment, diagnosis, counseling, and follow-up to clients. Maintains and interprets documentation of clinical work and other statistically relevant data; meeting quality assurance standards.
  • Provides assessment, counseling and/or referral services to patients at Mosaic Outpatient Behavioral Health or Mosaic Counseling Care.
  • Provide computerized/written reports and/or clinical documentation for legal purposes and administrative accountability.
  • Attend relevant and required meetings to provide consultation and gain needed information relevant to work.
  • Available for clients in emergency situations.
  • Complete clinical notes in a timely manner and paperwork necessary for insurance filing.
  • Maintain broad expertise in clinical areas and certifications or relevant credentialing.
  • Other duties as assigned
Education
  • Master's Degree - Counseling or social work - Required
Work Experience
  • 3 Years - Clinical experience - Preferred
Licenses and Certifications
  • Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) - Required Upon Hire Or
  • Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) - Required Upon Hire
  • C.E.A.P./A.A.M.F.T. certified - Preferred Upon Hire

  • Communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, with all levels of staff and leadership, the public, and agency representatives.
  • Must be able to operate a personal computer and standard office equipment

  • Must be motivated, able to work independently, be a strong facilitator and have excellent follow through skills.
  • Must be able to interact with people in a professional, diplomatic, and sensitive manner and ensure that appropriate confidentiality is maintained.

  • Moving, walking, balancing, kneeling, crouching, stooping, reaching, standing, pushing, pulling, lifting, and restraining.
  • Must travel throughout the Mosaic Life Care complex to meet with users in their environment.

  • Must be able to interpret data and prepare budgets.
  • Organizational skills to schedule meetings and meet deadlines.
  • Evaluate performance of staff.
  • Able to manage multiple priorities.
  • Interpret policies and procedures.
  • Must be able to identify and measure departmental quality goals.

  • Must be able to communicate via telephone and in person.
  • Must be able to review reports and organization goals for quality and accuracy.
