Job description

The Physical Therapist (Outpatient\Inpatient) works under the supervision of leadership. Evaluates, plans and implements treatment programs for the rehabilitation of patients, as directed by a provider, using approved treatment procedures. Provides patient/family education. Participates in family conferences. Responsible for all necessary documentation as required by accepted medical guidelines.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluates patients referred by providers.
  • Establishes goals that maximize the patient’s recovery.
  • Plans a treatment program, using appropriate treatment procedures that will best accomplish the established goals.
  • Implements the treatment program using approved procedures.
  • Documents treatment procedures and the patient’s response to them on a regular basis.
  • Responsible for treatment procedures, documentation, and supervision of physical therapy assistants, physical therapy students, and rehab aides, as appropriate.
  • Participates in staff meetings, family conferences and interdisciplinary teams meetings, as appropriate.
  • Participates in continual process improvement.
  • Other duties as assigned
Education
  • Bachelor's Degree - Graduate of accredited school of Physical Therapy - Required
Work Experience Licenses and Certifications
  • Physical Therapist (PT) - Licensed in State of Missouri - Required within 60 Days
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) - Required within 90 Days
Travel Requirements
  • Must be able to travel between various system facilities and off-site locations as needed. - Required

  • Inputting data, manipulation of small items, calibrating equipment, speaking clearly

  • Visual skills, feeling, hearing

Exposure to Hazards

  • Some topically applied anesthetics and minimal needle exposure. Extreme heat with hydrocollators; body fluids
