Stress testing is its own workflow
On the Bruce protocol, the common one, a treadmill study raises speed and grade every 3 minutes while the technician holds the leads still enough to read. Patients who can't walk get a pharmacologic version instead, with a drug standing in for the exercise. Either way a physician has to be available for the study, the crash cart is checked before it starts, and the technician is the person watching the monitor while the patient is at their limit.

- Is a cardiovascular technician the same as an EKG technician?
