How you’ll contribute
A senior radiation therapist who excels in this role:
The Lead Radiation Therapist will work directly with the Senior Director of Oncology Services to oversee daily activities in the department.
The lead therapist will assist the Director in identifying problems, recommending solutions and assisting in the improvement of technical and quality assurance programs.
Therapists at this level are expected to have a thorough understanding and proficiency in the procedures performed in the Radiation Oncology departments.
The Lead Radiation Therapist has significant responsibility for the efficient operation of the treatment delivery and simulation work area, communicating and coordinating daily operations with the staff.
Provide radiation therapy to patients as prescribed by a Radiation Oncologist according to established practices and standards.
Duties may include reviewing prescription and diagnosis; acting as liaison with physician and supportive care personnel; preparing equipment, such as immobilization, treatment, and protection devices; and maintaining records, reports, and files.
May assist in dosimetry procedures and tumor localization.

What we’re looking for Applicants should have a current associate’s in program of discipline. Additional requirements include:
Education: Associate’s degree Required; Graduate of a Program in Discipline Required; Bachelor’s degree Preferred.
Licenses: Must be registered with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists in Radiation Therapy.
Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) Required
